Boston, Massachusetts (JFK+50) An exclusive article by Senator John F. Kennedy was published in today’s edition of The Boston Post.*
Senator Kennedy writes:
“I am a Democrat–both by inheritance & convictions. The Democratic Party is not the party of any one group, but of all groups.
In our party may be found members of all races–all religions–all walks of life–all income groups in all parts of the country.”
*The Boston Post was the most popular newspaper in New England over a century. It fell into decline & stopped publication in 1956.

USSR & CUBA SIGN TRADE AGREEMENT
Moscow, USSR (JFK+50) The Soviet government announced today that the USSR & Cuba have signed a trade agreement.
The pact was signed in Havana yesterday by representatives of the two communist nations.
The monetary amount of the agreement is to be equivalent to 700 million U.S. dollars.
By the agreement, the USSR will provide oil, metals, chemicals, fertilizers, wheat & machinery to Cuba.
In turn, Cuba will export sugar, alcohol, tobacco & fruit to the USSR.
The Kennedy administration has not yet issued a statement about the trade agreement.

JFK BEGINS STUDY OF REARMAMENT
London, England (JFK+50) Massachusetts congressman John F. Kennedy began a three day study here in London today of England’s rearmament program.
The young congressman is being assisted in the study by his father, the former US ambassador to Great Britain, Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr.
Congressman Kennedy, first elected in 1946, is serving his third term in the U.S. House of Representatives.

NAVY LT. JOSEPH P. KENNEDY, JR. JOINS PATROL SQUADRON IN PUERTO RICO
San Juan, Puerto Rico (JFK+50) Navy Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. joined Patrol Squadron 203 as an aviator at the United States Naval Air Station here in San Juan, Puerto Rico today.
Joe Junior, as he is called by family & friends, is the eldest son of former US Ambassador to Great Britain (1938-1940), Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr. & Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy.
Lt. Kennedy earned his wings in May 1942.*
*Lt. Kennedy was sent to Great Britain in September 1943.
